Transfer to Caesarea, located halfway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, about 45 km, in the coastal plain of Israel, near the city of Hadera. The city has about 4,500 inhabitants. The only Israeli location managed by a private organization, the Caesarea Development Corporation, located under the jurisdiction of the Hoh HaCarmel Regional Council.
The city was built by Herod the Great from 25 to 13 BC. In the past it was the administrative center of the Judean Province of the Roman Empire, and later the capital of the Byzantine province of First Palestine during the classical period.
Following the Muslim conquest in the seventh century, the city became part of the province of Palestine (Filasṭīn) until the arrival of the Crusaders but was then effectively abandoned under the rule of the Mamelukes.
In more recent times it was populated in 1884 by Bosnian Muslim immigrants who settled in a small fishing village. In 1940 the Sdot Yam kibbutz was established near the village. In February 1948, during the Arab-Israeli war, the village was conquered by a Palmach commando under the orders of Yitzhak Rabin, after the population had fled following a violent attack by the Stern Band.
In 1952 a Jewish town was erected near the ruins of the ancient city, becoming the Caesarea Maritima national park.
Excursion to the town will be centered on the visit of the rose garden which hosts many exotic floral and arboreal species, the visit will be facilitated with the tactile and olfactory exploration of the different species as well as the braille and relief captions placed next to each of them. />
